Formed in 2017, the Al Shamal Flyers are the newest members unit in Al Shamal Shrine Centre.

We are a small group of nobles who decided to form a new unit based on simple, stupid fun. We wanted a unit that made us feel like we were kids again, even though our outward appearances are showing the world otherwise.

We chose a uniformed parade unit which is a mash-up of a go-kart and the little red wagons of our childhood. In early 2020 we received the first four parade units.

We propose to do things a bit differently by being more publicly accessible. For instance, we intend to help promote the Shrine by:

• Sticking around after a parade to connect with locals
• Attending automotive show and shine events with our parade units Attending Shrine events with our parade units.
• Auction
• Golf Tournament
• Penny Carnival
• Picnic

Attending other events, such as community trade shows, Oil Kings Games and concerts with our parade units.

We hope other units will join us in this effort!

We feel it is important to support the Divan in their initiatives while taking every opportunity to share information about Freemasonry, the Shrine and the Shriners Hospitals for Children network with members of the public who may not be aware of the fun we have while doing the good work we do!
