Important Historical Facts
EDSON SHRINE CLUB
The formation of the Edson Shrine Club started in late 1991 with the help of Al Shamal’s Assistant Rabban Ill. Sir Biff Donhou and Recorder Noble Mort Morter under the direction of Potentate Ill. Sir Stan Roszell, and became a reality on March 25th, 1992. Nobles Jerry Pasychny and Rene Lucas organized the first Ceremony of Installation, and Ill. Sir Bernie Hiron installed the first officers. The Club so appreciated the assistance of Ill. Sir Biff that they made him an Honorary President.
One of their proudest moments was when Ill. Sir Mel Lazarenko; former resident of Edson, a founding member and past President of the Edson Shrine Club; was installed as Potentate of the Al Shamal Shriners in Edmonton on January 6, 2001. During that year, the Edson Shrine Club was pleased to host Al Shamal’s most important event of the year, the Spring Ceremonial. It was a memorable affair that the twenty new Shriners who joined our great organization that weekend and the over 100 Shriners and their Ladies who attended the event will long remember.
