Battle River Shrine Club

The Battle River Shrine Club was created in 1977 under the auspices of the Al Azhar Shrine Temple. The club included members from Camrose, Alliance, Forestburg, Days- land, Sedgewick, Killiam and Stettler or in other words from the communities in North Central Alberta.

On November 18th, 1995, the original club was dissolved and re-chartered under the Al Shamal Shrine Temple. Currently the BRSC has about 35 members and we continue to draw our membership from all over the North Central Alberta region with some members driving as much 150kms to attend a meeting, yet we still average about 18 members per meeting. The Battle River Shrine Club made a decision a number of years ago to include our Ladies in every meeting and now we host a dinner meeting on the 4th Monday of the month, in Camrose, Ponoka, Forestburg and occasionally in Rimby. The inclusion of our Ladies helps the BRSC continue to be a strong active club within Al Shamal.

The BRSC supports our Shriners Hospitals for Children Canada with regular donations through our fund-raising and Casino. We also regularly support charities in North Central Alberta with a focus on those that assist children as well as working with other Masonic groups to assist families with children who need some extra care.

In the past we have supported the Oriental Guide of Al Shamal Shriners to attend the OG school in Tampa. The OG school assists the Oriental Guide in developing the skills he needs on his journey toward becoming Potentate of Al Shamal.

We welcome new Nobles to join our club and we look forward to hearing from you and meeting your lady.
